Thoughts on Summer Reading Lists from a Public Librarian (and a Mom)
Not every teen can buy a book because
1) No $
2) No local bk store
3) No transport to far bk store
4) No fam w/credit card to buy online— TeenLibrarianToolbox (@TLT16) June 21, 2016
And asking teens to annotate a book, underline, etc means they must buy a copy. Also a problem.

But please always consider sending copies of reading lists to your local library AND putting them online!!!

But most pub libs don't have space/$ for many multiple copies of same titles if they also want to get new & pleasure reading bks for teens

yes to reiterate, the best summer reading for teens & libraries is FREE CHOICE. @NoetheMatt

Linda Morah says
Freedom of choice is the best for summer reading. Considering that everyone has his/her taste when it comes to choice of book to read.
