Because Love is a Deadly Disease: The REQUIEM ARC giveaway

So, here’s the situation.  If you followed TLT last year, you know that I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Delirium series by Lauren Oliver.  I woke up in the middle of the night and wrote here a love letter.  I dragged my family across the city to meet author Lauren Oliver.  Christie went to ALA Annual with one instruction: Do Not Come Home unless you bring me an ARC of REQUIEM by Lauren Oliver.  Which she did. (Who loves you Christie? That’s right – ME!)

BUT THEN . . . I turns out that neither Heather or Christie have read Delirium.  Insert for shame face here.  It’s like, I have somehow failed them.  So, we are going to be doing a group reading and discussion.  Please join us.

The first week of February: read Delirium and join us on Friday, February 8th for a Twitter chat.  We’ll see what Heather and Christie – and YOU! – think of book one in the series. #TLTDelirium, 2/8/2013 (time TBA)

The second week of February is Harlequin Teen week, so you’ll have 2 weeks to read PandemoniumWe’ll have a Twitter chat on Friday, February 22nd to see what everyone thinks. #TLTDelirium, 2/22/2013 NOON CENTRAL, 1 Eastern

Then in March, we’re all about the Requiem.  Live Tweetchat Friday, March 15th at NOON Eastern. #TLTDelirium

To help facilitate this discussion of one of Karen’s favorite YA book series, we’re giving away a copy of the ARC for Requiem.  That’s right, I am going to give you Christie’s copy.  Not mine, don’t be silly.  We are opening the contest today and it will run through Saturday, February 9th so that we can get that copy into your hands.  The CAVEAT is, you have to do a book review for us after you read it.  I can do it but it would probably go like this: Oh I loved this book so much . . . . Or, what?! How could it have ended that way?! See, I am totally not a reliable source at this point in the game.  But don’t worry, I will share with you all the feels as I read the book.

And you did hear, right? They are going to be making Delirium into a TV series.

All the info you need to enter the contest appears below.  Don’t let the amor delirium nervosa get to you.

  1. OK I'm in! I'm a YA writer …. admission time! … I've never read any of Lauren Oliver's Books. This won't do, so count me in. Now to find her book at our local independent bookstore!

  2. The craziest thing I ever did for love is move across the country with a US Marine after only knowing him for about 9 months…. turns out it was a good choice!! We've been married for two years this May 🙂

  3. Now to read Delirium. Taking it home!

  4. I won't lose myself for love. That's been such an important thing for my teens to learn.

  5. Lauren Oliver is simply amazing. I even follow her on FB!

  6. LOVE Lauren Oliver!! This awesome, fantastic super friend told me about these books and I LOVE THEM!!!!!

Could it be just me or does it look like a few of

  15. Team Alex! All the way! (I MIGHT HAVE cried at the end of Delirium. And gasped at the end of Pandemonium.)

  16. I'll do anything for love, but I won't do that. (Sorry, Meat Loaf made me.)

  17. Definitely in and excited to read REQUIEM! Hmm, craziest thing… well, maybe not *crazy*, but several years back, I did put in a good number of hours making a specially-designed musical clock in shop class for a guy I liked who was a drummer. That count? 😉

  18. Can't wait for the final installment! The TV show should be interesting!

  19. Definitely Team Alex!

  20. I can't decide which team I'm on! My risky move for love? I married my high school sweetheart at age 20. That practically screams “you'll be divorced before 25”, but we celebrate 10 years this summer (and have three wild boys!).

  21. I love Delerium

  22. Oh I am definitely on Team Julian! I loved Pandemonium so much! Can't wait to read Requiem!!

  23. Love this series!!

  24. Well, I'm team Adam right now, although Julian grew on me a bit. BUT, I have no idea what to expect!

  25. Thank you so much for hosting this giveaway! I'd love to read and review Requiem. I gave my bff a copy of the first book – we're both waiting anxiously for the final book. As for your question, always Julian for the win!

  26. I won't give up on my dreams!

  27. i love these series so much, delirrium was by far my favourite so far of the two, it felt so innocent and pure (introduction to poetry and referance to romeo juliet and how it all foreshadows what supposedly happens to their love story, Alex sacrificing his life for Lena) the twist in the second book leaves many feeling as though Lena betrayed Alex and was too hasty for moving on, however the truth is we can only imagine her situation, we ourselves haven't actually been isolated in the wilds from our mother, family, and the person we love (alex in her case) so for her to be so immensly heartbroken and continusly struggle everyday , any chance of happiness and a fresh start (Julian) is an opportuinty we would surely grab (just like Lena did) so the third book is fair play for both the heros and yet another challenge Lena will have to face, as well as the change in the setting (after Julian's father dies what happends to the DFA?)

  28. and for the answer ALEX for the win (First love is always my first instinct, the thought of alex was what kept Lena going, she even pitured Alex and Julian's image morphing into one when she kissed Julian, made me think hmm clearly she wishes it was Alex.

  29. Team Alex! Don't get me wrong, I love Julian, but I just think Alex's a better person, if that makes any sense! 🙂

  30. Julian as a love interest pissed me off, so obviously, Alex. Also, I love that name.

  31. I would do almost anything for love, as long as I know I'm doing it for the right reason.
